Licensed since Nov. 1982, my legal experience is extremely varied and now provides me with a strong base of knowledge and wisdom that comes only through time. A graduate of the University of Houston College of Law, I began my career as an assistant district attorney in Galveston County. Needing the amenities of a larger city, I moved to Austin, where I worked for a major family law firm. During this time, I gained valuable trial experience before both juries and judges. I chose to then join a successful general civil litigation firm which further developed my trial and negotiating skills. I logged many hours preparing and serving as counsel during both jury trials and bench trials.
Taken ill with chronic health problems, I took a sabbatical from the practice of law. I overcame my health challenges and rejoined the legal community as an attorney in the Disciplinary Division of the State Bar of Texas. After experiencing the loss of my beloved father, I decided to focus on mediation and estate planning. Because of my background, I bring a personal desire to assist my clients with compassion, strong ethics, and a desire to protect their decisions, choices, and legacies.
I am a peacemaker. I am passionate about resolving the conflict that tears apart relationships. Regardless of the subject of the mediation, I bring seasoned skills that enable the productive exchange of communication between the conflicting parties. I have the abilities to facilitate the open exchange of effective communication that brings agreement, positive solutions.
